Neglected Blog
I kind of feel like a bad person for having this blog and neglecting it. I've been using my other blogs more, to showcase my work for a class, and for planning my release from college. I'm rather excited at the prospect of getting out of college, but today I thought I'd post something on here that's been bothering me lately.
I'm excited for my release from college. I liked college but I really liked the social aspects of it the most. I figured out that the only reason I went to some classes, was to have social interaction. For the most part, I can't tell if I've actually learned anything in college. I know I've applied some things, but I don't know about learning. I do remember wanting a couple of my professors to calm down.
They talked with such passion about things that didn't even remotely matter to me. I wondered what could convince them to go into their fields. And how they can care so much. Most days I spent fighting the urge to have my eyes glaze over , and constantly battled gravity to keep my head up on my shoulders and not on the desk, which wouldn't be very comfortable, but better than listening.

Questions ...in search of the answer
As May looms, so does the end of yet another semester. I'm ending my Junior year of college and starting my senior year. And that's it for my undergraduate education. For all intents and purposes I'll be considered an adult.
The only problem is what does that entail now? Do I get a job ? Do I go to grad school? ...Do I move back in with my parents [btw that rhetorical question sent a chill up my spine and down my mothers]. Obviously the answer to these questions is a resounding ... ::shoulder shrug:: . In truth I don't know.
Since highschool I've been like 30 different people. I've been everything from Alcoholic to Xenophobic, including band geek, frat boy, student leader. I've been the one awake at 3 am, finishing a paper due at 8, and the one in library two weeks in advance finishing a project. I've been a good student, a bad student. A brother, a friend, and a couple times an enemy. This are all things that I've learned how to do.
But what do I have to learn to do next?

Going Greek.
This week we're going to take a bit of a break from the usual topic of Animation Domination, Because it's the season premiere of ABC Family's Greek.
Quick recap. Setting Cyprus Rhodes University in southern Ohio. A school dominated by Zeta Beta Zeta Sorority, and ZBZ is basically dominated by Casey Cartwright, but this year is gonna be different because her, little brother is starting at CRU and the new rush. BLAH BLAH BLAH
Cut to this season.
Casey and Rusty have each spent the summer apart doing there own things. And when the semester begins again they each find themselves in their houses with brand new challenges to face. THIS IS WHERE IT GETS GOOD.
Rusty who's now an active at Kappa Tau Gamma is getting adjusted to his new life and trying to find the balance between his role in the house and his Polymer Science degree. Enter Rusy's friend Calvin and his friend from high school (Jessy Macarney who's joined the cast this season ) Andy. Andy falls in love with the laid back, and fun house KT house, but it's Calvin's fraternity (Omega Chi Delta) who is trying to win him over. WOW SO MUCH DRAMA and this is just the first ten minutes, IT GETS BETTER.
We move on to the girls who ended the previous season with the sisters of Zeta Beta Zeta having a little skism, that lead to half the house going over to the Brand New Iota Kappa Iota house, led by former ZBZ president Franny. [SHOCKER] and the cause of most of the ZBZ drama Rebecca Logan .... she is 3-5 blogloads in and of herself. But that's for another day.
So now its show down on Greek Row. ZBZ vs IKI, and its going to be a good one. The IKIs pull a power move, only to be crushed by the thoughtful planning of the Zeta Betas with the help of the Kappa Tau s. Everything goes well for ZBZ and KTs get away with wait who's that waving in the window oh that's right Andy. So much drama but it is marketed to wholesome teenagers, so most of the drama is predictable and could have been avoided this doesn't mean it will be.
Greek is on ABC FAMILY Monday at 8pm.

Family Guy ...fresh squeezed not from concentrate
Once again I'm watching Fox's Animation Domination. This week's review is for Family guy.
I'd make my post as long as the show was funny, but there's not a way to write less that nothing.
This episode starts with both improbably advice and a silly premise which lead the family to buying a new Hi-Def tv. An agist and a sexist joke later leads to Lois getting a job as a Prime Time News Reporter for Fox News. It was explained that Lois got a degree in Journalism in college, but has done nothing with it.
Brian being the "moral concious" of the family often talking about economical, social, etc. injustices immediately begins ripping the idea apart. Lois appeases him by bringing him to Fox News, to show him the behind the scenes of the station. Lois Gets her first assingment to spy on Michael Moore. This sends Brian into a rage fit, Lois decides to do the story, from a professional stand point.
Commercial break - Quiznos has a new sandwhich and it looks amazing.
Lois sets out to get the story and in turn gets a shock when she gets to Micheal Moore's home, and discovers Fred Savage. WHAT A TWIST. Apparently Fred Savafe has been pretending to be about eight famous people to quench his thirst for acting. He's proclaimed the GREATEST ACTOR THAT EVER LIVED.
The episode ends, the way the show is famous for ending, with the damily all together in front of the couch. They do a quick evaluation of the week's episode and then the credits roll.
This week was kind of a let down, they played it way safer than normal and i think they missed with this one. I give this episode a 6. Not bad, but not amazing.

Animation...not so Domination
I'm reviewing Fox's animation domination. You know the Simpons, King of the Hill, Family Guy and American Dad. For years this time slot of shows has reigned supreme in interntainment but after watching this week I think they're quite like milk approaching its expiration date. They're starting to stink and replaced with something newer. This week we'll talk Simpsons
If you're an avid watcher of the show, you'll surely have noticed that the yellow guys, have changed their opening credits this is a plus for the show. Tonight's episode was a spoof on the ever popular Dan Brown Novel the Da Vinci Code.
Starting with a solar eclipse that leads Marge to be blinded, the episode leaves the family mostly to their own devices. A cooking scene spoofing Rataoille, has Homer being controlled by rats and cooking a fine meal, when it's not up to snuff, he throws the food out and goes to buy rat poison. Two rather imporobable situations later lead to Maggie (the baby who should have turned 22 this year) to being left at a convent.
Comercial - Car dealers are REALLY getting desperate
Homer, Bart and Lisa, come up with a plan to keep Marge from noticing that her baby has gone missing. Improbable, yes. Funny, YES. At the same time Lisa has set out on a mission to solve riddles to find the answer about the location of Maggie. A couple really decently worded clues later and lil' miss know it all has an answer. It turns out to be untrue. And a recently sighted Marge enters to save the day. The episode ends with a parting joke about Bart possibly being the Anti-Christ and the probable end of all that is Holy.
I'll rate the episode an 8 not completely amazing but not worthless dribble either. It's hard to be fresh and funny with out changing the show at all in 20 years. But the writers have found a way to do it. And the Simpson's remain at the top of the totem pole of Animated Seris, and shall stay there for at least a few more seasons.
The Simpsons airs on Fox Sundays at 8pm.

Single too long?
My mother called me once. After the usual conversation with me asking for money. She of course told me we'd discus it, hopefully that results in my bank account growing. the call began with me asking what the balance of my credit card was currently, I intended to buy groceries, or something along those lines. The song and dance of getting money out of my family always involves an update on my life a negotiation, then we hang up they make their decision and sometimes give me the cash.
Unfortunately the record skipped, my mother asked me simply why I was single.
She was intruiged as to why I thought it was acceptable to be 20 years old and still single. She harped on the fact thatI needed to learn how to be in a relationship so that I don't turn 50 and just completely F*cked up and be useless. Being that I'm quick witted, I was able to switch gears quickly and turn it back on her.
I told Mother Dearest that I was simply too cool to put up with anyone else right now, and I'm not healthy enough to date currently but maybe soon. Getting her to see my side wasn't enough thought I had to make her feel guilty. I laid into her asking why she thought that I needed to date, of course not forgetting to say "Thanks for lying to me all these years. You spent so much time saying 'you're so awesome by yourself," etc, etc and not forgoing any of the self-esteem boosting crap she tried to feed me in high school. Which was now coming back to me, it was really funny for 19 years I was 100% complete with myself, but I turned 20 and suddenly I'm less than that. Now unless I'm willing to give up my independence and get myself one of those unhealthy co-dependent freak shows; er... relationships, I will forever be deminishing in how much of myself there is.
I come up with a response when people ask what my relationship status. I'm in a committed single situation. I'm not always faithful to myself, but I've found that it's easy to forgive myself.

An intro ...well catching you up to my life
Well here's the short of it. I was just under 20 and a half years ago. Making me 20-fun. I'm from the midwest, went to Catholic school my whole life, until college and now I attend a small EXPENSIVE private school in Tampa Bay.
So thats sorta my background, I go into more detail but other than 3 or 4 good stories thats pretty much it.
I decided to start this blog yesterday in one of my classes becasue it seems like the most sane way to get my thoughts out in a sane manor. I haven't figured out the particulars yet, of what I shall discuss but I do know that this will be in the majority, informative and fun for me. In the minority how ever ..... this maybe the only medium that I will have to get my oppinions out to the general public, unless of course my fear of public speaking is soon solved and I take up the career in stand up comedy.
