Animation...not so Domination

I'm reviewing Fox's animation domination. You know the Simpons, King of the Hill, Family Guy and American Dad. For years this time slot of shows has reigned supreme in interntainment but after watching this week I think they're quite like milk approaching its expiration date. They're starting to stink and replaced with something newer. This week we'll talk Simpsons

If you're an avid watcher of the show, you'll surely have noticed that the yellow guys, have changed their opening credits this is a plus for the show. Tonight's episode was a spoof on the ever popular Dan Brown Novel the Da Vinci Code.

Starting with a solar eclipse that leads Marge to be blinded, the episode leaves the family mostly to their own devices. A cooking scene spoofing Rataoille, has Homer being controlled by rats and cooking a fine meal, when it's not up to snuff, he throws the food out and goes to buy rat poison. Two rather imporobable situations later lead to Maggie (the baby who should have turned 22 this year) to being left at a convent.

Homer, Bart and Lisa, come up with a plan to keep Marge from noticing that her baby has gone missing. Improbable, yes. Funny, YES. At the same time Lisa has set out on a mission to solve riddles to find the answer about the location of Maggie. A couple really decently worded clues later and lil' miss know it all has an answer. It turns out to be untrue. And a recently sighted Marge enters to save the day. The episode ends with a parting joke about Bart possibly being the Anti-Christ and the probable end of all that is Holy.

I'll rate the episode an 8 not completely amazing but not worthless dribble either. It's hard to be fresh and funny with out changing the show at all in 20 years. But the writers have found a way to do it. And the Simpson's remain at the top of the totem pole of Animated Seris, and shall stay there for at least a few more seasons.

The Simpsons airs on Fox Sundays at 8pm.
